HALF DAY TOUR TO OLYMPIA (estimated duration 5 hours)


10:30we meet at the port of Katakolon & we start with your tour to Olympia

10:30 – 11:00 it takes approximately 30min to drive from Katakolon to Olympia – during our drive you will enjoy the green landscapes of the region of Elis fully covered by various cultivations & extensive olive grooves.

11:00we arrive in Olympia

11:00 – 13:00 the guided visit to the present day archaeological site of Olympia
(we focus our interest onto the best preserved monuments of the ancient sanctuary of Zeus & we enrich our visit with information reviving not only the site’s ancient existence but above all reviving the spirit of the great celebrations in antiquity, of the Olympic Games that were dedicated to Zeus, the major god of all, the father of the gods & the humans – the site of Olympia is a vast plain, in abundant vegetation & the visit doesn’t involve any climbing at all, only walking, pleasant walk by taking various short stops)

13:00 – 13:15 we walk from the site to Olympia’s archaeological museum

13:15 – 14:15 the guided visit to the Museum of Olympia
(in the museum are kept & wonderfully exhibited some of the best preserved finds, found within the site that are well know works of ancient Greek art & especially of ancient Greek sculpture verifying in addition the ancient sanctuary’s wealth & glory in the past.)

14:15 we leave from Olympia & we drive to Katakolon

14:45/15:00 we arrive in Katakolon where you can have time at your leisure in accordance to the ship’s departure.


Are included : transfer from/to the port – transportation by a comfortable tourist coach (36seats capacity) fully air conditioned with its driver – guiding services

Are not included : the admission tickets to Olympia (E 9 p.p. – the combo ticket for the site & the museum – young visitors under 19 years old pass free) – drinks – meals – tips etc.

Our marching orders:

We will meet each day for the tours in the forward show lounge (Victoriana) on deck 5 (Promenade) 20 minutes prior to the ship’s scheduled debarkation (9:40am.)

We will then debark the ship as a group when we are cleared and proceed to the tour buses. In consideration to those in the group we can not wait for anyone and we are unable to issue refunds if you miss the tour because these have been prepaid based on the number of people taking the tour.

Further instructions will be coming regarding debarking in Rome and meeting the tour there after we are able to arrange a group debarkation with the Group Coordinator onboard

***NOTE**** Although the tours have been prepaid there are some entrance fees that need to be paid the day of the tour and will be each person's responsibility to pay the fees. Please have EUR currency available.
